Everyone know about the useful of ICT even for kindergarten and tertiery students. For examples, at the kindergarten nearest to my house, it were accomodated with technologies which is includes computer, and LCD projector. My aunt who as a teacher at the kindergarten there told me that nowadays, there are ways to make the children love and enjoy their education. So that, the children are happy to go to school as their know that education are interesting.

With ICT, lecturer and teacher can encourage a greater degree of conctructivist learning within their format. There are way to do this by posing questions and problems, offering visual imagery to stimulate a creative response to issues, and teaching across Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences (Gardner and Hatch 1990).

Other than that, the creative use of ICT, especially presentation software such as PowerPoint can be renewed energy and change direction to the lecture format Clark (2008). ICT can creatively enhance the lectures in tertiary institutions and help bridge the divide between direct and conctructivist learning models. The key element in use of PowerPoint as a presentation tool is its potential to increase and maintain student interest and attention to the lecture when combined with active teaching and student involvement.

In summary, ICT have brings alot of increase in educational as for kids at the kindergarten althought the students in tertiary institutions. ICT can remaining student focus rather than presenter focus that will encourage interest students to understand.

For the second posting, I have to find the activities that can use and explain about computerized writing, examples of software that can use, URL host computerized writing, and how one can improve their writing using computer. Firstly, we have already know that there are three applications of computer. As a tool, the most common use is word processing such as ClarisWorks and MicrosoftWorks are cheaper and simpler to learn. Computer as a tool includes grammar checkers, concordances, collaborative writing, reference, internet, and authoring.

Secondly, as a stimulus, that is not so much as a tutor itself but it help to generate writing, analysis, critical thinking and discussion. The Animals and Navajo Vacation are the number of above-mentioned software that can be used as a stimulus. London Adventure, Oregon Trail, and Crimelab are examples of latter group that effectively programs which include simulations.

Applications for computer as a tutor includes grammar, pronunciation, reading, text reconsturtion, listening, writing, comprehensive and vocabulary. There are several software that we can use as pronunciation tutor such as multimedia programs (Firsthand access and The Lost Secret) that generally allow students to record and playback their own voice and compare it to a model and Super Cloze and Double up programs that allow students to manipulate letters, words, sentences or paragraph in order to put text together.

As far as I involved in Friendster, which is website that we can find our old friends and make a new friends that would give us a good experience in writing. As far as I’m concerned, we do alot of writing in making a new friend. Instead of making a new friend, we can do alots of writing practise that can improve our writing using the computer. LUCID DREAMING

The History of LUcid Dreaming

In a lucid dream, the dreamer becomes consciously aware that he or she is dreaming while participating in the events and emotions of the dream. That is, the dreamer can be a character experiencing the dream, an observer watching the dream, and a director creating the dream. As far back as the forth century B.C.E., Aristotle commented : “Often when one is asleep, there is something…which declares that what…present itself is…a dream.” Lucid were given a special status in early Christianity, Tibetan Buddhism, and Islam.

In England, Oliver Fox independantly discovered lucid dreaming in 1902. He called lucid dreams ” dreams of knowledge.” In such dreams, Fox felt ” free as air, secure in the…knowledge that I could always wake if danger threatened.”

Several modern popular books have focused attention on lucid dreaming. Patricia Garfield included a chapter on lucid dreams in Creative Dreaming (1974). She restrictions of body, time, and space”:

• When you become lucid you can do anything in your dream. You can fly anywhere you wish,…converse with long deed or people unknown to you ; you can see any place in the world you choose, experience all levels of positive emotions, receive answers to questions,…observe creative products, and, in general, use the full resources of the material stored in your mind. You can learn to becomes conscious during your dreams.

Techniques for Developing Lucidity

Stephen Laberge, at the Stanford University Sleep Lab, has developed a method called the MILD technique ( Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams ). This involves waking up for dream, imagining yourself back in that same dream, seeing yourself becoming lucid, and telling yourself, “Next time I’m dreaming, I want to recognize I’m dreaming.” LaBerge claims that with practice using his MILD technique, he was able to have lucid dreams on any night he wished.

To gain access to your dreams, you don’t have to use any physical energy. The only mental energy required is that of paying attention to the dreams that are given to you and being willing to consider the possible messages.

You can start your preparation today by finding a notebook or diary to record your dreams tomorrow morning. Place it on your nighstand or under your pillow tonight.

When you wake up during the night or in the morning, don’t open your eyes immediately. Lie very still and try gently to recall any imagenery. Were you in some building or unusual location? Was anyone else present? Did you notice something unusual? If you can recall any specific image (D), try to reconnect it with whatever event or activity preceed it (C), and what preceeded that (B), and what preceed that (A). Think about these events or images a few times before opening your eyes and recording the dream in its ABCD order. Describe the as fully as you can without crossing out any words.

As you begin to experience the personal rewards of your dream explorations, your dream journal will achieve a special place in your life. Review your journal from time to time to note how your life patterns are changing. Good journeying!

• When readings subjective passages, we need to be able to determine an writer’s point of view. Often, it is possible to do this by noticing the writer’s choice of adjectives. Adjectives of opinion (such as good, bad, interesting, boring, ugly) signal the writer’s point of view.

First of all, I have read the task given by Datin Norizan about first posting that related to computerized reading.For the task, it is all about reading comprehension that includes restructuring of texts, matching or jingsaw reading and problem solving. Besides that, I have to do some online reading to find one example of text online that can use to explain one of these types of reading such as reading for pleasure, reading for information, reading for task completion, reading for instruction and incidental reading.
