Here comes my 4th posting that I have to discuss the article ‘Beyond Concordances Lines : Using Concordances to Investigate Language Developement’ by Arshad Abd. Samad. For your information, in the present day and age of Computer Asissted Language Learning (CALL), the language corpus offers a useful resources in language pedagogy. The language corpus has commonly been used as the basis of dictionaries and teaching materials (Woolard, 2000). Its use is now enhanced by the easy availability of concordances software such as Wordsmith, MonoConc Pro and Microconcord. These software help in the tudious task of analyzing language data and greatly extend the potential of the corpus in language pedagogy. Corpora often help to inform teachers, reseachers and even language learners typically examine concordance lines to discover how words and grammatical constructions are used.
